The safety of luminous powder is highly concerned by people. GlowUp® luminous powder is produced based on strontium aluminate and rare earth. It is safe and environmentally friendly.

First, some people ask if the luminescence of luminous powder has radiation. The answer is no. The luminescence principle is that when exposed to a light source, photoions will be stored in the grooves on the surface of luminous powder particles. When the surrounding environment turns dark, they will escape from the grooves and disperse into the air, showing a luminous effect. When all the photoions are emitted, the particles will no longer emit light. If there is a light source charging on them again, they will absorb photoions and repeat the above process. This change process is a physical process. So there is no radiation.

Secondly, GlowUp® luminous powder has passed the SVHC certification. Products passed SVHC testing are generally considered safe and eco-friendly. Why?

مسحوق آمن يتوهج في الظلام، متوافق مع معايير SVHC، صديق للبيئة وغير سام.

What Is SVHC?

SVHC stands for “Substance of Very High Concern.” It refers to chemicals that pose significant risks to human health or the environment. These substances may be carcinogenic, mutagenic, or have other harmful effects.

Why is SVHC a concern?

  • Protecting human health: Many SVHCs can cause serious health problems such as cancer, birth defects, and reproductive issues etc.
  • Protecting the environment: SVHCs can cause long-term damage to ecosystems, affecting water, soil, and air quality.

How to control?

EU REACH Regulation requirements: The EU’s REACH Regulation imposes strict controls for items containing SVHC. If a product contains SVHCs, manufacturers or importers must fulfill corresponding obligations, such as notification and providing safety data sheets.

SVHC LIST

The European Chemicals Agency (ECHA) regularly updates the candidate list of SVHCs. Once a substance is identified as an SVHC, it will be added to this list. This list is dynamic and will be continuously updated as scientific research progresses.

Based on the latest 2024 SVHC list, GlowUp® powder has been tested for 248 chemicals, and has been confirmed to meet all safety requirements.
