LARGE PARTICLE GLOW IN THE DARK POWDER
1. What is the Large Particle Glow in the Dark Pigment?
Large Particle Pigment usually refers to luminous powder with a particle size 100μm and above. It resembles crushed sand or gravel and also has relatively high hardness. Compared with regular-sized luminous powder ranging from 20-30 microns to 70-80 microns, it has significant advantages in luminous brightness and high-temperature resistance. These pigments are widely utilized in decorationas, arts, architecture, and other various fields.
2. Types Available
The specifications we currently provide are as follows:

| Particle Size | Glow Color | Waterproof |
|---|---|---|

3. Features: Large Particles vs. Regular Sizes
- Higher brightness and Longer Luminescence Duration
The luminescence principle of glow in the dark powder is, first absorbing and storing light energy, then continuously emitting the glow in dark environments. Larger particles have greater volume, allowing them to store more light. Therefore, they have obvious advantages in both brightness and duration of luminescence compared to the regular size particles. Here is the related article about the particle size and brightness relatioanship.
- High Temperature Resistance
Higher production temperatures will cause a certain degree of luminenscence loss. Due to the large volume, large particles can retain more effective luminous parts than regular granulars after high-temperature heating, thus presenting a brighter effect. Therefore they are more suitable for high-temperature productions.
4. Applications
Large particles are suitable for specific applications but have limitations.
- Suitable Applications
For glass and ceramics: It is suitable for high-temperature heating of luminous glass, ceramic crafts, mosaics, luminous tiles, etc. It often used in the fields of architecture and art decoration.
Sprinkle on the surface of objects: It can be directly sprinkled on the surface of objects as decoration to create a starlight effect, such as indoor floor surface, creating a unique visual decoration experience. Some customers also stick it on the surface of skateboards to enhance the anti-slip properties and provide a cool effect at dark place, which combining functionality and beauty.
Inlaid decorations: With a strong sense of granularity and high brightness, large particles can be inlaid in walls or artworks, to form star-like flashes in the dark and become a highlight element in artistic decoration.
- Not Suitable
Large particles are not suitable for screen printing, spray painting, injection, extrusion, etc.
5. Can Large Particles Luminous Powder Be Made into Colorful Ones?
Large Luminous Particles are difficult to be colorful.
Colored luminous powder is usually made by physically mixing various colored fluorescent powders with luminous powder. The fluorescent powder particles are small and light in weight. They are easily stratified during the physical mixing process with large particles of luminous powder, resulting in uneven mixing and poor effect during use.
In order to ensure the luminous effect and stability, the original colors as Yellow-Green, Blue-Green, and Sky-Blue are recommended for using.
